Day to Day Representation.
- MESA is required by law to represent non-members and members alike. However, through regular communication between officiers, union stewards, and area vice presidents, members tend to be better informed than non-members, and consequently tend to experience less problems.
- Fourteen of MESA union members are trained union stewards ready to work to ensure fairness and equity here at Marshall, by knowing members before problems occur, these stewards are able to represent members more effectively than non-members.

A Say in Major Changes
- MESA was involved in the establishment of the daycare center, has helped working mothers identify work schedule options, has fought for safe and comfortable working conditions. As a member of MESA you may have an opportunity to institute or influence policies that effect your everyday life and your job!

A Simple Way to Show Your Gratitude.
- As the saying goes, "Lead, Follow or Get out of the Way." The work the MESA does for you has a cost. Many people have benefitted, either as individuals, or as groups. If you are not a dues paying member, you are simply not pulling your own weight. See our Become A Member page for more information on becoming a member. As Paul Johnson, our esteemed Membership Drive Coordinator (pictured at left) says, dues are only $5 a pay period, anyone can afford that!
